The Barnabas Center

NOTE: The Barnabas Center has closed. We await further instruction from our Creator for the next direction of the Barnabas Center.

The Barnabas Center was a special place in Southeast Raleigh, North Carolina, where people gathered to talk about life. The focus was on life issues, how to deal with them, and how we can work together as a community to help each other solve life's problems.

Barnabas means "Son of Encouragement," and that is just what you will find here. We cannot solve all of your problems, but we can offer lots of encouragement and empathy.

We have found many people who have tried church and never went back. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus says "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations..." We cannot sit around hoping they will come back to a church building, so we go where the people are.

Our mission is to reach the unchurched or dischurched in Southeast Raleigh and turn them into disciples, not just church attenders.

The Barnabas Center is a non-threatening place where real discussion takes place, people are improving their personal lives, and coming to a deeper relationship with their Creator. Recent discussions have centered on such topics as Happiness, Satisfaction, Contentment, Fairness, Responsibility, and the Difference between Wants and Needs.

"Come as you are." We don't expect any fancy dress.

Join in the discussion if you wish, or just sit back and listen.
